About this policy

This policy covers the Little Rivals iPhone app and littlerivals.app. “We” and “us” mean the operator of Little Rivals. For questions about your information, contact support@littlerivals.app.

Information we collect

  • Account and profile details. Your account ID, username, chosen character, and when your account was created or updated. Guest accounts also have an account ID. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple account identifier and the name and email Apple provides, which may be a private relay address. We do not receive your Apple password.
  • Games and friendships. Friend requests, accepted friendships, online challenges, moves, results, and match history. For the daily word, the app sends your guesses to check the result. We save the puzzle date, number of guesses, completion status, and completion time.
  • Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token, its account and session association, and your notification preferences.
  • Connection and security details. Sign-in sessions, IP addresses, device or browser information sent with requests, request timing, and records used to limit abuse or investigate errors.
  • Support messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include. Please do not send passwords or sign-in tokens.

What stays on your device

The app keeps practice games, solo word progress, settings, and cached game information on your device. Your sign-in credential is stored in the iOS Keychain. Widgets use a local snapshot of the information they display.

Moss uses game logic that runs on your phone. Playing against Moss does not send your moves to an external AI service. Daily word results are shared with our service for the friends leaderboard, as described above.

How we use information

We use this information to sign you in, connect you with friends, keep online games in sync, save results, send notifications you enable, answer support requests, and protect the service from misuse.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interests in security and support, to meet legal obligations, or with consent where required. You can withdraw optional notification permission in your device settings.

Who can see it

Players who search for your exact username can see your username and character. Friends and opponents can see the profile and game information needed to play together. Your accepted friends can see your daily word result on the friends leaderboard. Your email and sign-in credentials are not part of your public player profile.

Cloudflare provides the app’s server and database infrastructure. Apple handles Sign in with Apple and delivers iOS push notifications. These services process the information needed for those features. Support email providers also process messages you send us.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, or secure the service. Service providers may process information outside your country, subject to applicable data protection requirements.

The website

The landing page serves its fonts, images, and demo videos directly. It does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or cookies. The hosting service still receives normal web requests, including an IP address and browser information, to deliver and secure the site. Links to Apple or other websites are covered by those services’ own policies.

How long we keep it

We keep account details, friendships, and online game records while they are needed to maintain your account and history. There is no automatic account deletion just because you stop playing. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete records held by the service.

Sign-in sessions normally expire after 30 days unless renewed through use. That is a session lifetime, not an account deletion period. Notification delivery jobs are scheduled for cleanup seven days after expiry. Other security and support records are kept for as long as needed for their purpose, resolving disputes, or legal obligations.

Your choices and requests

You can change your character in the app and control notifications in the app or iOS Settings. Connecting a guest account to Apple helps you recover access later. Losing access to a guest account does not itself delete the account.

To request access, a correction, or deletion of your account and associated personal information, email support@littlerivals.app with your username and what you need. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. We will explain any information we must retain, for example to meet a legal obligation.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to a copy of your data, to restrict or object to processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise those rights.

Parents and guardians

Children should use Little Rivals only with the permission required where they live. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required parental permission, contact support@littlerivals.app so we can investigate and address the information associated with that account.

Changes and contact

If our data practices change, we will update this page and its date. For changes that require notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide that notice or seek consent. You can reach us at support@littlerivals.app.
